Nose shows toasted hazelnut, butterscotch and candied orange zest.  Mouth is round and elegant with ripe tree fruit and an excellent mineral lift.  Great weight matched by balanced acidity.  The finish is clean and pure with well defined fruit.

Suggested Pairing: Braised pork loin with black garlic mashed potatoes

... this is a substantial chardonnay with savoury flavours and a light veneer of toast and oak. The acid is bright and clean and the wine is harmonious in its integration. Jan 2017, 4 to 5 stars

... It's a linear, calm and directed soul raised from Prince Edward County soil royalty. The vintage offers up low-crop, scrupulously cropped stable if unexceptional fruit. Though not so tart, nor tense neither, there is a sense of tannic zest. Cool and precise, this represents concrete work from incumbent winemaker Keith Tyers. Drink 2016-2021. Tasted February 2016. Score: 91

... It's a big chardonnay, flavour-wise, yet carries a great sense of poise and tension on the palate. It is the aromas and flavours that are unusual - with complex lemongrass, candle wax, wood spice, struck match and chive (reduction)... The finish is fairly crisp and even, and the length is excellent to outstanding. Tasted June 2016 Score: 90
