Nose opens with truffle, cocoa nib and berry. Baked black cherry and rhubarb on the palate with a soft, velvety mouth feel and a long, persistent finish.
Suggested Pairing: Braised lamb shanks with parmesan & herb gnocchi
"...offers wet graphite and truffle notes off the top, also evidence of greater oak influence alongside darker berry fruit, even if still well within the County style of crunchy and bright. The palate is nicely sappy and snappy with fine succulence, and, despite the dark aromatic expression, remains very fine-grained, delicate and silky in texture. There's an extra beat or two on the back end, and I suspect this will evolve more slowly and last longer than the CCV pinot, drinking well from 2018 into the early '20s. An impressive example all around." Tasted September 2016. 91 points John Szabo, winealign.com
